This past month I attend three Youth Entrepreneur Market Days at George McGovern and Memorial Middle Schools where the YE Students set up booths with merchandise and food items that each grade level comes down for a half hour to purchase their goods. They were chaotic, exciting and fun for all. It helps the Students learn about business and the important role of education. A key fact is that kids who participate in a YE classes have a graduation rate of over 90%! If you don’t graduate from high school, you are 7 times more likely to live a life of poverty.
Our GreatLIFE Cares Foundation hosted over 20 Youth Entrepreneur Teachers and Administrators for a reception and dinner as a thank you for the over 35 Youth Entrepreneur classes at several public schools as well as O’Gorman High School. During dinner each one spoke of their involvement with Students and the impact it is having in engaging them. To the person, they were very enthusiastic about the experience and the powerful impact it had on them as well. It was a truly inspirational evening!
I hope of you had a moment or two to think of all the Veterans that you might know and the ones that have suffered and may have made the ultimate sacrifice for the blessing and freedoms we enjoy. God bless them and especially Our GreatLIFE Members and Team Members that are Veterans and remember “All gave some, some gave all”.
Tom
