Sioux Falls, SD (March 13, 2020) – GreatLIFE is proud to serve the community and we place your health and safety at the top of our priorities. In a press conference yesterday, Mayor TenHaken declared a state of emergency and encouraged city partners to not have gatherings of 250 or more for the next 14 days. With this in mind, we are going to take part in the Mayor’s initiative to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by shutting down the Woodlake Athletic Club and the GreatLIFE Performance and Fitness Center effective at 8pm Friday, March 13th. GreatLIFE will utilize our Team Members from the two facilities to provide extra support at all of the satellite locations across the area to help ensure we are continually monitoring and disinfecting the facilities throughout the day.
AMENITIES:
Massage will still be taking appointments.
Tennis will still have personal lessons.
Personal Training will be able to train their clients at other locations.
Group Fitness classes will be held online. Follow GreatLIFE Group Fitness Page for Facebook LIVE
EmBe Pool and basketball court are closed.
GreatLIFE is committed to remaining calm, while also taking deliberate steps to place the health and safety of our members and the community a top priority. We continue to remind our GreatLIFE Team Members of ways to avoid spreading disease, such as increased hand washing and more frequent cleaning practices.
Specifically, GreatLIFE is: Providing soap and water for hand washing. Using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol. Cleaning surfaces and tables using professional products frequently. Increasing frequency of cleaning. These practices are in addition to our everyday work processes. While we are following the Centers for Disease Control and other health leaders for guidance, we also encourage you to follow common sense strategies for preventing the spread of communicable diseases.
What you can do:
1. Stay home if you have symptoms like a fever or cough.
2. Check with your doctor. You may be able to call or have a virtual visit instead of having to go into the office, too.
3. Wash your hands with soap and water frequently for at least 20 seconds.
4. Don’t touch your face.
5. Consider “social distancing,” which means avoiding close contact with others. In particular, be aware of those who would be most impacted if they were to get sick.
6. Visit https://doh.sd.gov/news/Coronavirus.aspx for the latest information for our state.
We need your help. Since COVID-19 symptoms like fever, coughing and difficulty breathing are similar to viruses like influenza, it is important to talk to a clinical professional for diagnosis and treatment.
GreatLIFE will NOT have any Childcare or Group Fitness classes over the next 2 weeks but will be offering online classes and workouts so you can stay active and healthy if you’re not able to make it into a satellite facility. We are committed to keeping you updated on any changes via email, on www.joingreatlife.com and/or via our Facebook page.
GreatLIFE will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
