Dear GreatLIFE Corporate Partner & GreatLIFE Cares Foundation Organizations
I want to personally thank each of you for participating in our inaugural GreatLIFE Cares Foundation Challenge for Change event at our Willow Run golf course. We had 28 teams competing for their respective charity or civic organization for the $17,500 in prize money. We had a tie for first place with the Boys & Girls Club and Collision splitting $15,000. First National Bank and Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital tied for third. Sioux Falls Specialty is donating it’s $1,250 in earnings to Young Life. First National Bank is splitting their earnings between the McCrossan’s Boys Ranch and the Sioux Falls School District who will each receive $625. Special thanks to Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln and Luxury Auto Mall of Sioux Falls for their Title Sponsorship.
More importantly, we were able to create awareness and support for each of the +25 charities and civic organizations. As I have told some of you, I firmly believe we have more “God-cidences” in our lives than coincidences – good people get together and good things happen for a reason although at the time we may not realize it. This morning, Nick Ovenden and I met with Mike from the Y and Rebecca from the Boys & Girls Club. During our visit, Rebecca said that John Glasser from Collision reached out to her yesterday to discuss the two organizations working together in developing ministry groups and mentoring relationships. They already have a plan in place with people committed to leadership – unbelievable God-cidence! Can’t wait to see how these organizations expand their programs to help the most vulnerable in our community and build a model for other communities!
After we cover the expenses, we will donate 50% of the net proceed equally among the charities and organizations. We will do a recap of this year’s event and start planning for an even better program next year! Again, thanks.
